Best View in the Smokies!
Our family decided to spend our spring vacation at the Deer Ridge Mountain Resort taking advantage of one of there advertised vacation packages. And truth be told, this has been one of the best vacations our family has ever had. The Deer Ridge Mountain Resort is actually located in Cobbly Nob, which is a short 15-20 minute drive from Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For us, this was an ideal location away from the hustle and bustle of the attractions in town. It was always great to return to the peace and quiet of our vacation home.Once you are half way up Deer Path Lane you realize that you are right at the edge of the mountain on a one lane road and there is no turning around. When you arrive at the top you are greeted with a stone faced waterfall and a sign proudly stating “the best view in the Smokies!” Now, any resort aside from the Deer Ridge Mountain Resort can lay claim to it but we soon discovered that it was, indeed, very true.
Condo Sunsets
We checked into a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom loft unit which actually has a 3rd bedroom upstairs. The boys loved having their own separate space via the spiral staircase. The unit has a nice big living room with a fireplace and with a fully-equipped kitchen. It turns out that each unit is individually owned and so they are all a bit different in decoration. We had a second floor condo unit and so the view from our balcony was breath taking. From that vantage point, we were able to savor the resort’s claim of having the best views in the Smoky Mountains. Full Size and Fully Equipped
This style of resort is not a place you will be pampered with room service. In fact there really is not room service to speak of. You can exchange towels and linens as often as you like and then clean up after yourself. This is a place to just simply relax, do things for yourself and enjoy the peace of view of the mountains. We enjoyed the fact that the kitchen was fully-equipped with everything you will need for cooking. They provide appliances and all the dishware, cutlery and cooking ware you need. Deer Ridge Mountain Resort has numerous onsite amenities and activities. Near the office they have an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, and even a steam room. The pool and hot tub were very nice to take advantage of on a warm day so the boys really had a good time. We had such a special relaxing time at the indoor pool and Jacuzzi area as late nights adults only are allowed after 11 pm. They also have very nice outdoor facilities that include a covered outdoor party room, a playground, basketball court, horseshoes, picnic tables, cooking grills and lighted tennis court.Since the boys love to visit adventure theme parks, we opted to take advantage of the Dollywood vacation package with Deer Ridge Mountain Resort. After all the activities of the day it was a comfort knowing upon our return that we could just watch a movie with the family, read an entertaining book, play a relaxing game of pool or just enjoy the view from the balcony.

This year we booked the Dollywood vacation package. We had a great time and it really turned out to be a good deal. The next time we visit Deer Ridge Mountain Resort we will most likely take advantage of one of the golf vacation packages to use with Bent Creek Golf Resort. I appeared to be a beautiful and challenging golf course. The course is located in the valley just below Deer Ridge and we could see it from our balcony. The prices are reasonable and it feels like home because the staff lets you feel like you are family. This is simply a nice laid-back place with all the comforts of home.
