Sevierville's Apple Barn Winery has been around since 1994, and has been producing award winning wines on the banks of the Little Pigeon River ever since. The winery is located in Apple Barn Village, in Sevierville, and the orchard that supplies it surrounds each of Apple Barn areas beautiful buildings. It is quite the picturesque country setting and actually quite relaxing even though you are just few blocks off the main parkway!
The Apple Barn Village includes two restaurants, the winery, a general store, cider mill, a candy factory, the creamery and a Christmas store. We toured all areas and also ate at both restaurants and the cider mill! If you've not had the chance to visit a winery, you shouldn't miss the chance to check out this one. There are lots of great wines available, and you'll see how the wine is made. They even have a movie running about the wine making process. Plus, you'll get the chance to buy great food and souvenirs in the surrounding Apple Barn Village.
We love stopping at wineries so this was a must do for us. We quickly made our way around the shop and versed ourselves with the wines they offer and the awards they've won. We then made our way to the wine bar area for the free wine tasting experience. The winery offers a variety of different wines, including dry apple, cabernet sauvignon, vineyard white and central valley wines, semi sweet apple blush, apple-cranberry, and orchard white wines, and sweet apple-raspberry, apple-strawberry, and apple-peach wines. Sweet muscadine and applewood white wines are also available.
The Apple Barn Winery is open daily for wine tasting. They also offer an attractive gift shop with lots of fun things to buy. From June to December, you can visit the winery Monday through Saturday, nine am to nine at night. On Sundays, the winery closes at seven pm, but opens at nine am the same way it does during the rest of the week. Between January and May, the winery opens at nine in the morning, and closes at six.
The Apple Barn Winery is a real treat, and it's not just for the adults. The kids will like seeing the orchard, and will have a lot of fun with the nearby attractions in Apple Barn Village. Parents will enjoy tasting the many different varieties of wines, learning how the wine is made, and enjoying the scenery. There's something here for everyone, especially if you love high quality wine.
We love visiting the friendly Apple Barn Winery and the Apple Barn Village. Be sure to check out the cider mill to enjoy all kinds of apple products, such as apple butter and jam, baking mixes, and attractive apple themed gifts. We looked in the window at the cider bar, and saw all the picnic areas filled with patrons so we asked and an elderly couple told us people come from all over to go through the cider bar! Yes, everything sold or served is made of apple! We ordered the fried apple pie and homemade cider. They were great!
Don't overlook this great Sevierville attraction if you happen to be in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area. This was by far one of the highlights of our trip. Now, I may be sounding a little spirited, but let me tell you, when you step into this attraction, you will discover the real meaning of comfort and food!
